Class Descriptions:
Kids: ages 6 – 11
Ages 6 to 11 years old. Improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques. They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner and group poses, lots of yoga games, breathing and basic anatomy. Class curriculum may vary.
Pre-Teen: ages 10 – 12
Ages 10 to 12 years old. This class will help build strength and flexibility with more physically challenging postures and flowing sequences. Promote self-confidence, awareness and control. Visualization and breathing exercises are used for overall balance and concentration, which can be applied toward everyday situations. Partner and group poses are emphasized. Age appropriate yoga games are included in every class. Class curriculum may vary.
Teen: ages 13+
Ages 13 to 14 years old. Using yoga postures to build inner and outer strength and flexibility are the main focus of this class. Also included are partner and group poses and playful yoga games. Experience emotional balance through the physical and mental benefits of yoga by practicing breathing exercises, flowing sequences, balancing poses and deep relaxation while building a healthy relationship with your body. Positive self-awareness and esteem are encouraged. Class curriculum may vary.
Teen 2: ages 15+
Ages 15+ years old. Using yoga postures to build inner and outer strength and flexibility are the main focus of this class. Also included are partner and group poses and playful yoga games. Adults: ages 18+
This is a great class for students who are new to yoga, looking for a more gentle experience, or those who need a change of pace, yet still have the option to take it to the next level. You will be guided through postures in a Vinyasa style, beginning with the basic poses, and allowing for more challenging poses based on your practice level. Props are encouraged to allow the body to fully achieve each pose comfortably. This class is accessible to everyone regardless of age or physical ability. “Come as you are, not as you think you should be.”
Open Teen:
This class is open to all teens ages 12 and up. This is a great class to bring your friends to and connect with other teens in a unique way. You will be guided through a Vinyasa style flow that is fun, challenging, and freeing! In addition to learning breathing techniques to calm to the mind, students will participate in games to create mindfulness, collaborate in partner and group poses, learn restorative yoga techniques, and deep relaxation. Students will develop compassion and self-confidence, empowering them to be agents of peace in the world. Class curriculum may vary.
